*What is included in your Weekend Scrapbook Retreat Fees?

Our Studio Weekend Scrapbook Retreats include an individual table space, 6X30 Table for ONE at our Studio events, Each table will also be provided with welcome goodies at all our regular events!

Each scrappers table will be equipped with a Power Tower, 4 electrical plugs and 2 USB port per scrapper, an OttLite & ScrapMaBob, cup & trash holder, all of which stays once you leave. You no longer need to bring along bulky power strips or extension cords, no more taping or trippin’ on multiple cords within the room! Just PLUG IN & GO!  

Our Weekend Events also include unlimited canned soda, coffee, tea & water.  We also offer a snack table in which our participants can voluntarily bring in a dish, or snack to share. (Must be individually packaged items at this time)

We will host a Sunday Raffle Drawing at 2:30* where you can WIN freebies courtesy of The Scrap Cabana.  *Winners must be present for Grand Prizes.

Our Themed Events do include a specialty created logo T-Shirt & Dinner on Saturday evenings. 

Our NO FRILLS EVENTS do not include any raffle drawings, games or giveaways.  It's back to basics!  

*Is there a local hotel with discounted rates nearby?

For those of you seeking overnight hotel accommodations during our Weekend Scrapbook Retreats, The Scrap Cabana Studio has partnered with The Hampton Inn & Holiday Inn Express, both in Yorkville, IL for our discounted room blocks for our events. The hotels are both located 1.5 miles from our Studio, a 6 minute drive.

*Do your weekend events include meals?

Our Weekend Scrapbook Retreat events do NOT include any meals unless it is a Scheduled Themed Event.  We do offer a snack table for volunteers to bring a dish or snack to pass.   As you enter our studio, you will be welcomed with full sunshine throughout our floor to ceiling windows. Use of our fully functioning kitchen, stocked with flatware & cooking utensils, refrigerator, freezer, ice machine, Oster XL Convection Air Fryer Toaster Oven, which can cook pizza's, 10-13-inch baking casseroles, bake, toast, broil, roast & warm dishes, and a microwave so bring your own food to store and prepare.  Bring your lunch & dinner fixins’! For those of you wanting to enjoy a special cocktail during your weekend, please feel free to do so responsibly.

*Can I sit with my friends?

Most definitely!  When registering for an event, include your scrappin friends names on your registration form or on-line during the checkout process. We base our weekend setups on groups of friends and do not place all our scrappers in long tables within our room but scattered based on groupings. We do our best to keep groups of friends together but we cannot guarantee if late registration fees reservations are received.  

*Do you have product for sale?

Our STUDIO location has a full scale retail shopping boutique available to you during your event with us. You can start a held receipt during the weekend and settle upon your departure on Sunday. 

*How early or late can we start or stay during the Weekend Scrapbook Retreats?

Our Weekend Scrapbook Retreats at our Studio start at Noon on Friday and end on Sunday at 5PM.  Friday 12PM - 12AM | Saturday 9AM - 1AM | Sunday 9AM - 5PM.*  If we have staff that volunteer to close later, we may leave the studio open later each evening/early AM.  We offer our late night extensions with the mutual agreement of ethical behavior, trust, honor & integrity of our guest.  Our studio is equipped with security & video surveillance equipment for your safety.   *NEW 2022:  We have a NEW Access Swipe System offering unlimited access during your Weekend Away.  Please review Unlimited Access Enhancement Information Below. 

*Can we leave our supplies overnight in the Studio? Is is safe?

Our Studio is equipped with a security system, including an alarm and video surveillance system. We will lock the studio after the last scrapper retires for the evening, if we do not have all night scrappers, and your scrapbook supplies can be left for the weekend. While our events have been safe, we do not assume any responsibility nor will we be held responsible for any damages, lost or stolen items that may occur during our scheduled Weekend Scrapbook Retreats. Our retreat disclaimer is included in your registration and by purchasing, registering and attending our Weekend Events, you agree to our disclaimer & cancellation policy.  

*Do you offer any retreat enhancements?

Our Weekend Scrapbook Retreats do include a variety of enhancements that vary based on the event. 

Massage:  Each event we will offer massages to be conducted in a private room. Our masseuse is fabulous and well worth the time away from crafting.  We send out an announcement prior to our event explaining her sessions & you can request a time on Friday evenings of our events to be scheduled for Saturday's.  

Embosser:  We will also have our Embosser, Ken Hajduk from Personalized Imprints attending during various events. He will be available to create wonderful titles on your Albums. If he is scheduled during a particular event, we will announce during our countdown emails. 

*Are there restaurants nearby?

While we do offer the opportunity to bring in your own food to store, prepare & cook in our fabulous kitchen, We do have a number of local restaurants for those of you that would like to venture out or order in.  We have a binder of restaurants menus or just ask me if you have a particular taste for the evening and I will steer you in the right direction. 

*Do you provide transporation to and from the hotel?

We do not currently offer transportation to and from the hotel.  The hotel is located 1.5 miles from our Studio and a 6 minute drive.  We may look to offer alternate solutions during the cold winter months. 

*How can I register for a Weekend Scrapbook Event?

You can register for our Weekend Scrapbook Retreats in a number of ways.

1.   You can download our registration forms and mail in payment,  If requested, we will hold mail in payments and deposit 2 weeks prior to our events to help you budget. Otherwise checks will be deposited upon receipt.

2.   You can register and purchase on-line.  (Online registrations does include an additional credit card convenience fee)  Save a few bucks and mail in your registration form with a check, ZELLE, money order or cashiers check. 

3.   You may visit our Studio during operating hours and purchase your Weekend Event Registration. Checks & Cash encouraged. Credit Card payments will be accessed a 3.5% convenience fee.  

Once ANY registration is received, either via mail or on-line registration OUR cancellation policy is in full effect.  No exceptions.  Please review our cancellation policy prior to registering for any of our events. 

*Do you have a cancellation policy?

While we appreciate your registration for our events, please remember we are operating a business and we do have a cancellation policy that is effective for all weekend events. 

Unfortunately, due to various reasons for cancellations, we cannot define which cancellation clarification is more prevalent than another’s is; therefore, we need to be consistence with our policy. We have numerous reasons from scrappers as to why they need to cancel, from sickness, surgeries, parties, kid’s school or sporting events, etc. and we need to be consistent in our policy.  I hope you can understand but it we do not abide by our cancellation policy for all then it deems it invalid.  

The Scrap Cabana Weekend Scrapbook Retreat Cancellation Policy: 

All paid & registered participant cancellations to our events are NON-REFUNDABLE; we do not offer a refund of any monies under any circumstances. Based on your date of cancellation, you may have movement options.

 

Cancellations MUST be received in writing either by e-mail or mailed. Due to the large number of events, we conduct yearly, we do not accept phone calls, text or FB messages as cancellations.  The date we receive the written cancellation is the actual cancellation date. Once you have notified us of your written cancellation, based on the date of the cancellation, if applicable, download The Scrap Cabana Retreat Movement Request Form on our website and mail in with replacement date selection and management fee.

 

Cancellations Prior to Event BEFORE Two-Week Deadline:  Cancellations received two weeks prior to the beginning date of the Weekend Scrapbook Event will be offer the option of movement to another Weekend Scrapbook Retreat within a year of cancellation of equal or lessor value with an additional retreat management fee of $15.00.  Themed retreat cancellations will not receive any refunds to the movement of our regular, no frills, or special retreat cost.   Only ONE Weekend move is permissible. Once you have confirmed your replacement date retreat, if you are unable to attend your replacement cancellation date Weekend Scrapbook Retreat, you will not receive a refund of any monies nor any additional movements. Our retreats fill quickly so please select your replacement date as soon as possible as we will not extend the expiration if your selected date is full. If you do not choose an open date prior to the expiration of your year extension, we do not extend your cancellation period.

 

Cancellations Two Weeks Prior to Event:  Cancellations less than or equal to 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the event will not receive a refund of any monies nor can they move to another Weekend Scrapbook Retreat. NO EXCEPTIONS. Unfortunately, due to various reasons for cancellations, we cannot define which cancellation clarification is more prevalent than another’s; therefore, we need to be consistent with our policy and any cancellation less than or equal to 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the event is non-movable, non-refundable. If you can fill your spot with another guest, you may arrange between yourself and that person for the exchange of monies.  In the event of transfer of your weekend event, we would need to be notified by email, the name, email address and contact information of the replacement individual prior to the start date of your scheduled event.

 

We reserve the right to cancel a Weekend Scrapbook Retreat if there is not a minimum of 10 people.  If that happens, we will offer you an alternate date within a year of the original retreat date to reschedule your registration.

 

2023 Cancellation Policy Regarding COVID-19: After the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020, in 2023 any Covid cancellations must adhere to our standard cancellation policy. After March 2020, COVID-19 and its consequences are no longer unforeseen or unexpected. By registering for our events, post COVID-19, the risk of contracting the virus is likely possible. When we accept registrations for our weekends, fill our events and/or close our registration to additional participants, we rely on your attendance to fulfill our monthly rental expenses. While we understand these are unprecedented times, as a struggling business we have had to continually adjust our business strategies and after 3 years, Covid-19 no longer applies as an exception to our standard cancellation policy. While we are sympathetic to all cancellations due to various reasons, we must be consistent in our policy for it to be deemed valid.

I understand that the scrapbook products, including the die cutting machine(s), punches and other equipment at the event, chairs, electrical towers, OttLite, ScrapMaBob & general equipment may cause injury if not used correctly and carefully.  I agree and hold harmless, The Scrap Cabana, LLC, Michelle Salisbury, for any injuries sustained as a result from the use of the equipment, which has been provided for my use during the event.  The Scrap Cabana, LLC, will be held harmless against any loss, expenses, damages and liabilities in the event of injury or accident that may occur or has occurred at The Scrap Cabana Scrapbook Weekend Retreats.  The Scrap Cabana, LLC will not be held responsible for any loss of products due to damages, lost or stolen items that may occur during the event.  By attending our retreats, you consent to the use of photos in which you may appear. SECURITY NOTICE REGARDING THE USE OF CAMERA/VIDEO SURVEILLANCE at The Scrap Cabana Studio.  For the safety of our scrappers, customers, volunteers & staff members, The Scrap Cabana Studio employs video surveillance equipment for security purposes. This equipment may or may not be recorded and/or monitored at any time.  The Scrap Cabana Studio’s surveillance cameras/video is located only in public areas where there is no “reasonable expectation of privacy.” Public areas include building entrances, common area & reception/register. Surveillance cameras are not located in “private” areas such as restrooms or private massage room. We also reserve the right to cancel or move a Weekend Scrapbook Retreat to another location or date and if you choose to make hotel reservations other than under our “hotel block” we are not responsible for the cost and or/refund for the cost of your hotel reservations.  By registering, purchasing and attending this weekend retreat, I agree to this disclaimer and cancellation policy.

Our Studio has a business/crafting area that includes the following for your use during our Weekend Scrapbook Retreats:

*Can I just craft or scrapbook for a day or evening?

Most definitely!  We offer daily & evening open craft tables each week.  Tuesday 11AM - 6PM (Based on scheduled Tuesday openings) & Thursday Evenings, 3PM - 11PM.  $20.00 per event.  Each open craft table includes an 6x30 table, water, coffee & tea.  For each open table event that you attend, you will receive a punch card and once you attend 10 events, the 11th is on US!*   *You are responsible for your punch card, presenting to us for each event attended event for documentation. We do not keep a copy of your attended events. Card must be presented to us at each event that you attend. 

*New 2022 - Unlimited Access Enhancement, Can I craft all hours? 

Most definitely!  We now offer unlimited crafting access to our studio during your scheduled Weekend Event.  We utilize an individual key card/fob entry/exit system, in which access will be exclusively programmed, monitored by a tracking software system & 24-hour recorded video surveillance during your weekend event! 

WEEKEND RETREATS OPERATING HOURS:  FRIDAY NOON - 12AM | SATURDAY 9AM - 1AM | SUNDAY 9AM - 5PM.   KEY FOB/KEY CARD ACCESS*:  FRIDAY 6AM - SUNDAY 5PM UNLIMITED ACCESS.  

Key Fobs:  Purchase a key fob for $20.00 which is yours to keep permanently, key fobs are non-refundable and non-transferrable.  When you attend our Weekend Events, the key fob will be programmed for unlimited access, with a bonus entry time starting at 6AM on Fridays. (Regular Friday hours NOON - Midnight)

 

Key Fob Owners – Reserve Thursday Bonus Day for $20.00 and you may enter on Thursday as early as 6AM.  (Regular hours 3PM - 11PM) That’s extending your Weekend unlimited access from Thursday 6AM – Sunday 5PM. (Reservations must be confirmed by email or text so that we can program your key fob for each event)  

 

Key Access Cards* require a $20.00 cash deposit which will be refunded* upon return of the key card following the end of your weekend event. *If your key access card is lost or stolen, the cash deposit will be utilized as our administrative fee and no longer refundable*.  

Thursday Night Open Scrap:  3PM - 11PM. $20.00  If you attend our open Thursday night scrap prior to your weekend event, you can either purchase a KEY Fob or obtain your Key Card* with a deposit and you can enter on Friday as early as 6AM.  You must attend on Thursday evening to obtain a Key Card to enter early on Friday morning. Key Fob Owners do not have to attend Thursday Night Open Scrap to enter early Friday.  That is a Key Fob Owner Perk. 

KEY FOB OWNER PERKS:  

  • Unlimited Access Friday - Sunday during Weekend Events

  • Early Self Entry during our Thursday Open Scrap Events. $20.00

  • Self Entry into Studio ANY weekday to craft when pre-scheduled. $20.00

  •  Discounted daily rates when advertised on our FB Page. 

Access cards/fobs shall be issued exclusively to individuals interested in entering the Studio outside of the normal operating schedule. Sharing your access card/fob with others is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate revoking of privilege without refund of any kind. You must possess a Key Card or Fob to enter the studio when a staff member is not present outside of our normal business operating hours.
